For some people, a website is their first point of contact with a religious community.  I’m sure that there are those who came to know the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart (MSC) only after reading my blog.  That is why I have always advocated within my own religious community that we should have web presence.  And not just any presence, but something that the online world will find interactive, warm and caring. Something that people would always want to go back to.

I have so far created two websites and one portal for my congregation. I will make more in the future for our various ministries (music ministry, youth ministry, etc).  And also to provide a ‘who-we-are-what-we-do-how-you-can-be-a-missionary’ to net surfers as well as to provide useful information to our own members.

The one I’m doing right now is for the MSC Philippine Province. I am using Joomla as its CMS. I cannot begin to tell you how much I love Joomla, but that’s another story. I will ask you now to visit the site: http://ph.misacor.com. But before you click the address please know that I am also asking you to help me improve the site by sending me your impressions, comments and suggestions.

Plus I have one question for you: What would you want in a religious website?
