I‘ve just received an email telling me that “Dear Peace”, a video documentary I directed and edited recently won the SIGNIS-WACC Human Rights Award 2009. The award was given during the international Congress of SIGNIS held last October in Chang Mai, Thailand. SIGNIS is the World Catholic Association for Communication.
The “Dear Peace” video is a documentary on a peace project organized by the Communication Foundation for Asia (CFA) for Christian and Muslim high school students who gathered for a week-long Peace Camp. In the video, the Peace Camp participants recount learning experiences on Essay Writing, Painting, Theater Arts, Photography and Videography, Music and Speechcraft and how they put these skills in the service of peace-building.
“Dear Peace” is produced by CFA with the support of the Evangelischer Entwicklungsdienst (EED) and in cooperation with the CBCP Episcopal Commission on Inter-religious Dialogue, National Council of Churches in the Philippines and the Young Moro Professionals Network.
The 30 minute video was also shown as a special feature at the Insight Festival held in Manchester, U.K. on 18 November 2009.
Congratulations on your reward.
Congratulations Father! May God continue to inspire you in your ministry and may you touch more hearts for Jesus.
Congratulations. May the good Lord use you as His Instrument to touch the hearts of His “Beloved Children”, regardless of their color and race, thus bringing peace to all, and among all. Philippines and all its developments interests me a lot for I was a missionary there for 11 years.
Congratulations for this great work of peace-building and the award that goes with it…So timely an announcement amidst our anger.
Congrats to you Fr. Stephen! Your video serves as an inspiration today amidst the anger and chaos we are all experiencing after te massacre in Mindanao.
