The support and influence of our parish community had a tremdenous impact in my renewal. @ Roses – thanks for your comment.
@ Cat – I prefer the NRSV Bible because it is the most ecumenical of all versions. The NRSV translators include Protestant, Roman Catholic, Jewish, and Greek Orthodox scholars. It also uses inclusive language. For example, it uses the word “person” rather than “man”. You should check out the New Revised Standard Version of the Bible.

Hi father! stumbled upon your blog, and im really glad i did! its refreshing and a blessing to know that a catholic priest such as yourself is bringing the faith to new media.

i consider myself a modern catholic. i am surrounded by christian friends who have been of influenced me to get to know the Lord on a deeper level. i am interested in learning about modern scriputures and choosing between rsv and nlt for catholics. i like the nlt more, but would like to know… is this recognized by the catholic church?
