According to La Razon and CNA, athletes will not be allowed to bring bibles into the Beijing Olympic Village during the 2008 Olympics. Organizers have reportedly cited “security reasons” for banning athletes “from bearing any kind of religious symbol at Olympic facilities”.

But it seems that the bible ban is limited only to those staying in the Olympic Village. The official website of the Beijing Olympics clearly states that each visiting foreigner “is recommended to take no more than one Bible into China“. Thus, I think, if you do not have to enter the Olympic Village premises, you can bring your bible to China during the Olympics without trouble.
