HOMILIES

  • “For judgment I came into this world, that those who do not see may see” [Daily Scripture Readings & Meditations]
Jesus not only gave physical sight to the blind man, but spiritual vision as well. That is why Jesus proclaimed himself the “light of the world” (John 9:4). What is the significance of this miracle at the Pool of Siloam? It is certainly more than just a miraculous event. It is a “sign” that points to the source of the miraculous life-giving water and light which Jesus offers through the gift and work of the Holy Spirit (John 7:38) Read more…
  • Fourth Sunday of Lent [Catholic Doors]
While Jesus has come to judge those who reject the truth, many shall condemn themselves. For some falsely believing that they possess the light, have and continue to reject the revelation of God that was manifested through Jesus Christ. Read more…

10 Fascinating Photos of Rainbows

A few years ago, I went with a close friend of mine to Malaybalay, Bukidnon in southern Philippines. We were on a public jeepney when we saw twin rainbows, one arc on top of the other. It was such a rare, magical sight. Both of us asked the driver to stop the vehicle so we could watch the full spectrum of colors.

My friend and I loved the twin rainbows so much that whenever we were in a state of happiness, we would say that we were not just happy but “rainbow happy”. The following photos of rainbows are dedicated to my friend. May you be “rainbow happy” wherever you are right now.

A few weeks ago we brought you amazing photos of heart-shaped leaves. This time we offer you a collection of gorgeous photos of heart-shaped stones.

The photos remind us that we need to stay focused on our hearts. The quality of a person depends on the quality of his/her heart. Our actions spring from who and what we are. And the heart is the source of our being. That is why it is so important that our heart be set on authentic values.

10 Exciting Photos of People Jumping

It was Jodi Picoult who wrote that “Love meant jumping off a cliff and trusting that a certain person would be there to catch you at the bottom.” This is the quote that inspired me to collect the following photos of people jumping.

Everyone in the photo seems to be jumping with joy. Just in case you’ll wonder, the first and sixth photos are a result of photo manipulation not due to some superpowers on the part of the jumper.

10 Delightful Photos of Raindrops

It was raining when I began collecting these photos. The rain started as a calm shower and slowly ascended into a heavy downpour. I heard some distant thunder and the sound of people hurrying up. I know it’s kind of poetic, considering that here I was collecting photos of rain drops.

I love the sound of rain hitting the ground and rooftops. I love it so much that I downloaded ambient rain sound so I could listen to rain regardless of the weather. My mother used to tell me that when it rains it is God distributing his blessings to his beloved children. I grew up believing that the rain, like other beautiful things in the world, is God’s transparent transmitter of his abundant love.

I hope you will enjoy these 10 delightful photos of raindrops. By the way, if you want to listen to the sound of rain while viewing the photos you should open this site (http://www.rainymood.com/) in a new tab.

10 Photos of Eyes That Make You Say Awww

When we look at people we usually notice the eyes first. That is because the eyes can tell so much about the what the person is thinking and feeling. They say that the eyes are the mirror of the soul because you can ascertain a person’s thoughts and feelings by looking in his/her eyes.

Eyes do communicate a lot. In fact, I know of some people who communicate better with their eyes. Anger, adoration, confusion, affection, hatred, love, dislike, admiration and other emotions and ideas can be well communicated through the eyes. A good friend of mine used to tell me that she’s very careful regarding what she communicates through her eyes because eyes don’t lie.

I hope you will enjoy the following 10 photos of eyes. I am sure some of them will make you say awww, that’s cute.
