This does not happen everyday, so I better blog about it. Sunstar, the number one daily in the Visayas, runs a cover story about me and my blog in their weekend magazine today. My mother texted me about it this afternoon and she said that it made her cry. There is nothing tearjerky about the write-up but mothers are like that. Or… she was just kidding me.
You can read the online version of the article by clicking here and you can judge for yourself if indeed it could bring a mother to tears. He he he. On a serious note, I think the writer, Mayette Tabada, did an excellent job in recounting the beginnings and growth of my blog as well as the history of my priestly vocation and media ministry. And I commend her for making it sure that Linux and Open Source be mentioned in the article.

Way to go!!! We are so proud of you. Excellent article though I should say that it would have been more interesting if she mentioned that you graduated SUMMA CUM LAUDE when you finished your master’s degree in Rome. (To think that Italian was the medium of instruction!) Again, we are so proud of you. ATO NI BAY!
Wow! Simply WOW Father Stephen! Sure thing any mother would have teary eyes. With your overflowing talents, good judgements, unceasing valor not to mention soft and pure heart for others, plus a remarkable sense of humor, no mother couldn’t love you any less! Keep it up, we are behind you all the way, and for always!
Certainly the cry of your mother were tears of happiness.
All the things you have accomplished in your life since your childhood untill now surely she and your family relatives are very proud of you Fr. Stephen Cuyos.
May the love/blessings of GOD shine upon you.
Mothers are the best! They can be very proud of even just the littlest of accomplishments and see us beyond our shortcomings.
I’m sure those were tears of joy.
i miss going to church and hearing your homily… you were one of the best school chaplains we had… and i dunno if you can still remember, i must’ve been one of the people who had ‘online confessions.’
hello, father. i read your entry weeks ago, immediately had this reaction but had to wait till now to finally be able to write it down and send this to you. if the sun.star article did not mention the honors you received after completing your masteral studies, it was due to my failure to ask you but also your humility in refraining from volunteering that information. as your reader, i can attest that this rare grace in one so young is one of the many reasons why i visit your site to take a breather and then go away, replenished. amping ug ayu-ayo kanunay, Father!
