Online Resources: World Mission Sunday

Today is World Mission Sunday. It is the day when Catholics all over the world celebrate their vocation to be missionary and offer prayer and financial support for the Church’s mission. The late Pope John Paul II described it as “an important day in the life of the Church because it teaches how to give: as an offering made to God, in the Eucharistic celebration and for all the missions of the world” (see Redemptoris Missio 81). According to Missio, the “money collected on World Mission Sunday goes towards helping: 83,000 priests, 455,000 religious and 1,700,000 catechists. Through them APF supports 194,855 schools, 5,246 hospitals, 17,530 dispensaries, 577 leprosy centres, and 80,560 social and charitable institutions.”

The following sites offer resources you can use to make the celebration of World Mission Sunday in your area more meaningful and fruitful.
