Fathers are called not just to be nurturers but also to act as role models to their children. They have a direct impact on the self-esteem and maturity of their children. According to this report, “fathers who are involved, nurturing, and playful with their infants have children with higher IQs, as well as better linguistic and cognitive capacities.” On the other hand, the absence of fathers have a negative impact on their children. This report shows that “children who experienced father absence were likely to have behavior problems and didn’t do well in school, particularly in math and science.”
