Can’t memorize the Mysteries of the Holy Rosary or the Apostle’s Creed or the Hail Holy Queen? Don’t have a rosary with you? Want to know how to recite the Rosary? If you are an iPhone or iPod Touch user, consider the following apps a blessing.
These free apps are designed to encourage non-devotees to learn more about the Rosary as well as to provide a guide to practicing devotees who can’t memorize the twenty “mysteries” (significant events or moments in the life of Jesus and Mary) and the prayers that make up the Rosary.

Hi Fr. Stephen.
The advantages of the iPod to make the rosary more attractive and flexible for younger believers, so we came up with an iPhone Rosary app that was just released a few days ago called “Rosary Gems”.
It has a very different interface and is decidedly more “gadgety” than most other apps, while at the same time being greatly simplified. There are no zillions of menus and settings and dated artwork. The focus is on design, beauty, simplicity, and ease of use so you can close your eyes for the most part. You can at a glance see exactly where you are in the Rosary – one quick blink of the eye:

There is more info and some screen shots for those interested.
Overall the design is both novel, and masculine, with a moody leather background with gently glowing “gems” that track your progress. You can click on any gem at any time to move to that part of the rosary. And the right prayer, neatly hidden out of the way, is one click away if you need it. This helps with memorization.
Any effort to get the younger generation to pick up a rosary, even a digital one, is good because it moves them towards truth through beauty. Our is a paid app opposed to a free one, but as we get more apps in the store, we’ll be able to release earlier versions as free.
@Douglas – thanks for this tip.
I am looking for a rosary app for the black berry torch. Any suggestions?
Hi Father, I’m looking for an iPhone app that at least can render Sunday Gospels and Readings. That way, I can read the Readings and the Gospel in advance before going to church, so I can better understand, digest, and reflect on them. I wonder if you of one.
Android has an Interactive Rosary (same name) search and find. It works great….Android App store FREE
What I find so ietnersting is you could never find this anywhere else.
