The Mozilla Foundation, the organization behind Firefox, is non-profit and it devotes its resources to promoting openness, innovation and opportunity on the Internet. Since it is non-profit, the finances of Firefox are audited and on the public record.

Yes, Firefox earns from the Google (and Yahoo, Amazon, Ebay, etc) search functionality included in the browser, but you must also keep in mind that you are not obliged to use Google (or any search engine for that matter). You can disable or remove any search engine. You can also add the ones that you like. If you want to know how to do this, I can teach you. The best thing about Firefox is that it is not only Free/OpenSource, it also gives users multiple choices.

What a neat idea! I’ve just convinced a friend to make the switch to Firefox, which she happily did, and will be assisting another friend in getting Firefox onto her Mac tomorrow afternoon. I think the Firefox download day is a brilliant idea, and I certainly will do my part to help publicise that.

Thank you for this update. I’m using FF as my browser with my Feisty (no plan yet to upgrade) and it really rocks. Thank you also for the inspiration to blog. Partly out of boredom also, i just started my own simple blog.By the way,I was moved by the docu-video.Shempre,starring Migz and Tenet.More power.
