Wow, the Christ like figure of Magnifico has just dawned on me. I didn’t know the message of the movie is something greater until I read this review. I focused much more on rubik’s cube, which represents how Magnifico patch up things for the community. Thanks for this great review

MAGNIFICO was recently chosen by GAWAD Urian as one of the BEST 10 Pinoy Fims of the Decade. I came across this post today, 6 years after it was posted and it is still relevant and worth sharing as it gave a Christian perspective to one of the most endearing filipino movies I’ve seen. This movie was shown in lieu of USC’s celebration of Buwan ng Wika, with the caption “Mabuhay ang Pelikulang Pilipino”… there were really students who couldn’t help themselves but to she some tears….
the movie is really heart-warming… decisively such that it rectifies Filipino Cinema….and the Filipino way of life…

This movie review is great!
I’ve seen the movie, “Magnifico” before but I’ve never realized that there were hidden meanings in the film.
The Christ-like depiction of the child opened me to the realization that things like this could still be possible in a hypocritical world.
