Last Tuesday (08 June 2010) I facilitated a Photography Workshop at the East Asian Pastoral Institute (EAPI) in the Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU) campus in Quezon City. The twenty-eight participants came from different parts of Asia and Europe. Most of them were priests and nuns from various religious congregations and dioceses. All of them are currently taking a Pastoral Ministry course at EAPI.
The main objective of the day-long workshop was to teach them how to purposefully use Digital Photography in Pastoral Ministry.
After teaching them the basics of Digital Photography I asked them to take several photos based on a list of themes. I was pleasantly surprised at how fast they learned the skills and how creative they were in taking pictures. The following are some of the photos they took during the workshop:

Hello, Fr. Stephen,
Very, very impressive pictures!
Hindi po ba ninyo puwede i-suggest sa next year’s Pope Benedict XVI Summer Festival of Catechesis and Christian Formation na isama sa topics and workshops ang Digital Photography for Pastoral Ministry, please?
Isa na po ako sa siguradong magpa-participate, basta kayo ang magtuturo, siempre.
Magandang umaga Fr.

Lovely photos! Wonderful photos! for meditations and reflections. Congratulations! and Thank you so much for sharing your digital photography together with the output of your participants. They were great creative photographers. This is a great achievement in presenting lively homilies. I will inform our General Superior about this Digital Photography. Hope you will invite us to join this kind of Workshop on photography. We have young sisters who are willing to venture on new things.
Sr. Grace is on vacation. As soon as she gets home, I suggest to her to get her own gmail add too. So you can communicate with her.
Keep Me Safe Oh God, You are our HOPE!

Hi Father, I was surprised to see the news about us and the photos in your web. You are extremely quick in action. Thanks for your appreciations. Above all, thanks for sharing your digital knowledge with us.Within a short time you taught us many things. I thoroughly enjoyed your lessons. Even though I was not interested in photography at the beginning, towards the end I started to fell in love with it, because of the detail techniques we learnt & strong message it can bring about. After the modules I discovered all the icons in my camera. Upto now I took photos only for rememberance. It is a great privilege for us that we met you. May be my friends are not aware of this news. Tomorrow I will proclaim it in the class. You are most welcome to Sri Lanka. Thanks for sending materiels to Anne (England). She appreciated you very much in her mail to me. May God bless you.
