Everybody hurts. Everybody falls and makes mistakes. People break promises. Your dreams can shatter. And the question is: who and what will give you the strength to rise from all your troubles?
God can heal your pain and forgive your sins. God is always faithful and will help you make your dreams come true. So never lose hope. Believe in miracles. Your prayers will be answered. And your heart will be renewed. That’s what faith can do.
Kutless is a north American Christian rock band composed of Jon Micah Sumrall, James Mead, Jeffrey Gilbert, Dave Luetkenhoelter, and Nick DePartee. Since their formation in the year 2000, they have released six albums. The song “What Faith Can Do” is from their latest album “It is Well”.
What Faith Can Do
by Kutless
Everybody falls sometimes
Gotta find the strength to rise
From the ashes and make a new beginning
Anyone can feel the ache
You think it’s more than you can take
But you’re stronger, stronger than you know
Don’t you give up now
The sun will soon be shining
You gotta face the clouds
To find the silver lining
I’ve seen dreams that move the mountains
Hope that doesn’t ever end
Even when the sky is falling
I’ve seen miracles just happen
Silent prayers get answered
Broken hearts become brand new
That’s what faith can do
It doesn’t matter what you’ve heard
Impossible is not a word
It’s just a reason for someone not to try
Everybody’s scared to death
When they decide to take that step
Out on the water
It’ll be alright
Life is so much more
Than what your eyes are seeing
You will find your way
If you keep believing
I’ve seen dreams that move the mountains
Hope that doesn’t ever end
Even when the sky is falling
I’ve seen miracles just happen
Silent prayers get answered
Broken hearts become brand new
That’s what faith can do
Overcome the odds
You don’t have a chance
(That’s what faith can do)
When the world says you can’t
It’ll tell you that you can!
I’ve seen dreams that move the mountains
Hope that doesn’t ever end
Even when the sky is falling
And I’ve seen miracles just happen
Silent prayers get answered
Broken hearts become brand new
That’s what faith can do
That’s what faith can do!
Even if you fall sometimes
You will have the strength to rise
It’s really hard to keep my faith firm. A lot of distractions. What to do?
If you are a Protestant or non- denom this may be a stretch. I am a born again Catholic and am now enjoying the fullness of the faith. I am unable to partake in the Eucharist as my marriage is not in full communion. I am okay with that, it helps me with humility, and I believe that status will change in God’s time. I actually became a born again Christian long after I had drifted away from the catholic church. God in his patience has guided me ever so lovingly back to the path he intended for me in the first place. I am also older, not that that matters much, and I have suffered in chronic pain for the last ten years, so when I read your post my heart really goes out. I have learned patience, be patient with yourself.
Have you ever said a rosary, or just a simple hail Mary. I close my eyes and begin a simple hail Mary, …as I proceed I think of the first event in Jesus life, at his conception, when the angel Gabriel appeared to Mary. I can see a young woman who has fallen to her knees and a gracious face of a mighty angel beckoning her to please stand. I have gotten over the feeling that I need to complete a full rosary, as I am very distractible. Why Mary, well it’s that nasty devil who will distract and deceive you, and make you feel unworthy or confused. When I see Mary in my mind, she isn’t completely in focus and I couldn’t describe her face for you but she exudes a calm confidence, and as I repeat the hail Mary prayer my confidence grows, and I see her and her son together also smiling and ever so loving. The devil and doubt just cannot stand up to this. He has to slink away on his belly to find another victim. I am refreshed in my faith for now and now have a level of joy and peace, and I believe a faith that is a bit stronger than it was 10 minutes ago. I truly love Jesus and his mom t that moment and know that I am loved.
This helps me, and I hope it might help you too.
