  • A few weeks ago we brought you amazing photos of heart-shaped leaves. This time we offer you a collection of gorgeous photos of heart-shaped stones. The photos remind us that we need to stay focused on our hearts. The quality of a person depends on the quality of his/her heart. Our actions spring from who and what we are. And the heart is the source of our being. That is why it is so important that our heart be set on authentic values. Stoneheart by thetamar Well, some hearts are ma... more »
  • It was Jodi Picoult who wrote that "Love meant jumping off a cliff and trusting that a certain person would be there to catch you at the bottom." This is the quote that inspired me to collect the following photos of people jumping. Everyone in the photo seems to be jumping with joy. Just in case you'll wonder, the first and sixth photos are a result of photo manipulation not due to some superpowers on the part of the jumper. water runner by R'eyes Oh! • It was raining when I began collecting these photos. The rain started as a calm shower and slowly ascended into a heavy downpour. I heard some distant thunder and the sound of people hurrying up. I know it's kind of poetic, considering that here I was collecting photos of rain drops. I love the sound of rain hitting the ground and rooftops. I love it so much that I downloaded ambient rain sound so I could listen to rain regardless of the weather. My mother used to tell me that when it rains ... more »
  • When we look at people we usually notice the eyes first. That is because the eyes can tell so much about the what the person is thinking and feeling. They say that the eyes are the mirror of the soul because you can ascertain a person's thoughts and feelings by looking in his/her eyes. Eyes do communicate a lot. In fact, I know of some people who communicate better with their eyes. Anger, adoration, confusion, affection, hatred, love, dislike, admiration and other emotions and ideas can be w... more »
  • The following photos hold a very special place in my heart. I took some of them as far back as 2004 and as recently as less than a week ago. They remind me of the places I've visited, the people I've met along the way and the lessons I've learned. They've recently found their way out of my hard disk unto Flickr as I experimented on putting inspirational quotes on them. The lines seem to work so I uploaded ten of them, so far. I will upload more in the coming days. Please click on the title... more »
  • When my mama smiles when she tastes her own work I am one hundred percent sure that she's cooked something tasty. She puts all her love into her cooking that I sometimes see the food smiling. I tried to look for photos of smiling viands on Flickr but I haven't found one (well, I think only my mother can make food smile). I found smiling fruits instead. I hope you will enjoy the following 10 charming photos of fruits that smile. And I also hope that they will inspire you to produce works that... more »
  • When we think of leaves we don't normally think of the extraordinary. Leaves are so ubiquitous and uniform that they don't usually attract our attention. Flowers do, but not leaves. However the following photos will persuade you to see leaves on a different, more beautiful light. Nature has shaped these leaves in a way that will make you think of love, truth and beauty. These leaves can teach us a valuable lesson - to always open our hearts, alert our senses and notice the little things even ... more »
  • Taking photographs is more than pointing and clicking with a camera. You bring to the act of photography all the memories of those you love, the faith that you live, the principles that you follow, the songs that you sing. To some, photography is an act of capturing the moment. To others, an act of meditation and prayer. There are also those who see photography as an act showing who we truly are. Whatever it is you think of photography, here's ten quotes that will make you love photography... more »
  • Fathers are called not just to be nurturers but also to act as role models to their children. They have a direct impact on the self-esteem and maturity of their children. According to this report, "fathers who are involved, nurturing, and playful with their infants have children with higher IQs, as well as better linguistic and cognitive capacities." On the other hand, the absence of fathers have a negative impact on their children. This report shows that "children who experienced father absence... more »
  • Last Tuesday (08 June 2010) I facilitated a Photography Workshop at the East Asian Pastoral Institute (EAPI) in the Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU) campus in Quezon City. The twenty-eight participants came from different parts of Asia and Europe. Most of them were priests and nuns from various religious congregations and dioceses. All of them are currently taking a Pastoral Ministry course at EAPI. The main objective of the day-long workshop was to teach them how to purposefully use Digita... more »
