SunStar Made My Mother Cry

This does not happen everyday, so I better blog about it. Sunstar, the number one daily in the Visayas, runs a cover story about me and my blog in their weekend magazine today. My mother texted me about it this afternoon and she said that it made her cry. There is nothing tearjerky about the write-up but mothers are like that. Or… she was just kidding me.

You can read the online version of the article by clicking here and you can judge for yourself if indeed it could bring a mother to tears. He he he. On a serious note, I think the writer, Mayette Tabada, did an excellent job in recounting the beginnings and growth of my blog as well as the history of my priestly vocation and media ministry. And I commend her for making it sure that Linux and Open Source be mentioned in the article.

Praying Is Good

Although I have never thought that this would be the outcome, the best thing about the controversy surrounding “A Blogger’s Prayer” is that bloggers – both theists and atheists – are now discussing prayer. Praying really does wonders.

But did you know that the three of them are also bloggers? Yes, you’ve read it right. These bishops blog too. And their respective weblogs are Viewpoints, [...]

Disciples With Microphones

The focus of Catholic podcasting must be: promotion of justice and peace, evangelization, witnessing, and forming communities of faith. It is my hope that more and more people are encouraged to produce podcasts which contribute to understanding among peoples and the recognition of human, social, and spiritual values, as well as to express new personal and social dimensions of the God’s message.

Blogging Bishop

Filipino Archbishop Oscar Cruz maintains his own blog. The prelate’s blog gives readers a glimpse at what is inside his mind and his heart. It provides access to his faith-life reflections, his stand on issues that directly affect Filipinos, and offers a first-hand account of events in the archbishop’s life.

I Have Learned To Mambo

At first I thought it would be grueling. At first I thought the steps would be very complicated. At first I thought that a novice like me would be intimidated by what I had to unlearn and the new commands I had to become skilled at. But yes, I have learned to mambo.
