Easter is the celebration the resurrection of Jesus. It is a celebration of the liberation which Jesus won for all of us. Jesus became human to liberate humanity from all forms of slavery: sin, hunger, oppression, selfishness, inequality and injustice. Jesus won this liberation for us by going through all forms of suffering (including death) and by rising from the dead. The Lord’s triumph over the grave has won new life and hope for all of us. This easter let us also remember the many who are suffering across the world. And let us make Jesus’ passion, death and resurrection the paradigm and source of hope for our struggle for liberation.
Being the central fact of the Christian faith, the resurrection also calls us to celebrate the greatness of God. Our God is an amazing God.
